Eufy Security Smart Lock Review

We have a Eufy camera system setup at our house (quick review, it’s awesome–the battery actually lasts as long as they say), so decided to try the Eufy Smart Lock for the front door.

The Eufy Security Smart Lock is an attractive and secure smart lock solution. The Eufy Smart Lock is a Grade 2 BHMA Certified smart lock that replaces your existing deadbolt to give you keyless entry, control from anywhere, and peace of mind.

The installation is easy. Not much different than installing your standard lock other than connecting the wire from one end of the unit to the other. To program and use download the Eufy app on iOS or Android device. The Eufy App has a step-by-step video guide for installation. All hardware is separated into boxes marked for each step. Eufy was kind enough to include extra screws (for when you inevitably drop a screw or strip one).

You can open your door remotely via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi using the Security app, or by using either the touchscreen keypad or key. The Eufy Smart Lock even works with other smart home devices to give you complete control of your front door from anywhere. The fingerprint is quite accurate. If you have used an iPhone’s fingerprint before then this is no different.

I enjoy being able to check the status of my door locks from my phone, observe activity on the doors, remotely lock and unlock them, and grant access to friends and family. The auto-lock features is useful. If a friend or the cleaners leave the door unlocked, the auto-lock feature can lock the door automatically after a set time delay.

This smart lock features BHMA Grade 2 certification, which means it can withstand up to 400,000 uses before needing to be replaced. Grade 2 is generally a good lock–a grade above a builder lock. The lock is also weatherproof, so you can use this smart lock for years without worrying about its performance being affected by rain or snow.

The Smart Lock encrypts your in-app data using a bank-grade AES128 encryption chip, rather than on the cloud, to safeguard your personal information.
